Instead of making a scene, Betty simply picked up the stamp off the floor, and left her change for it in its place. She then said a quick “Thank you!” and walked out.
The customer that was next in line saw the whole thing and made no effort to pick up the change. The teller had to get up and walk around the counter to pick up the payment.
