Daily synagogue tours this summer

Congregation Emanu-El, the oldest Canadian synagogue in continuous use, opens its doors to visitors. Every summer, many tourists visit our beautiful synagogue to explore its unique history, architecture and restoration.

This year, with our knowledgeable guides—Shoshana Litman, Amber Woods and Sharon Fitch—we have decided to give daily synagogue tours from Tuesdays to Thursdays. We are grateful to our guides for their enthusiasm and devotion to the delivery of an incredibly professional docent service.

It is a thrill to see how visitors are so fascinated by their visit to our shul. Please encourage your summer visitors to experience Victoria’s Jewish roots by taking one of our shul tours. If they wish to find out more about our unique local history, they can take a Victoria Jewish Walking Tour.
