On Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 6 pm—the Victoria Jewish community will observe Yom HaZikaron (Israel Memorial Day) and celebrate Yom Ha’Atzmaut (Israel Independence Day). Come join us at the Jewish Community Centre of Victoria, 3636 Shelbourne St. and honour the soldiers who have served in the Israeli Defence forces. Afterwards we will celebrate Israel’s 71st birthday with “everything Israeli” from falafel, salads and dessert to snacks and souvenirs.

Wednesday, April 18 starting at 4:45pm at the Da Vinci Centre 195 Bay Street (at Wilson in Vic West) —The Jewish Federation of Victoria and Vancouver Island invites community members to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Israeli independence with an evening beginning with a Yom Ha’Zikaron ceremony followed by Yom Ha’Atzma’ut Festivities featuring a sumptuous Kosher Israeli dinner, music by the 7-piece Sulam Ensemble from Vancouver, a children’s choir, and Israeli folk dancing!
This event will take place at the Da Vinci Centre at 195 Bay Street (at the corner of Wilson and Bay). Doors open at 4:45pm. Tickets are now on sale and cost $20 each, $10 for students, and $50 for families.
