Tu Bishvat 2021: Celebrating our natural environment

Sunday, January 24, 2021, 10:00—11:30 am on Zoom—These challenging times have made all of us more grateful for the beautiful environment in which we live. Although we cannot celebrate the New Year of Trees in our usual way—together this year by going on a hike and spending time outdoors together—we have found a way to come together and celebrate nature.

We encourage you and your family (or social bubble) to get out and experience nature, and come back and share your experiences by posting photos, a video, or a story about your adventure on our special Tu Bishvat Kudoboard. Given all the challenges we’ve been living through, let’s take this opportunity to appreciate the outdoors, and those first snowdrops or buds on the trees, or a walk on the beach to see what the tides have washed ashore.

On Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 10 am, join us on Zoom when we will come together to share our experiences and to receive learning. Rabbi Matt will lead our singing, and Rabbi Harry will talk about how to have your own Tu Bishvat seder. We have invited students and parents from our Hebrew School to join us. We will include our event with a talk about the environment from a GVAT (Greater Victoria Acting Together) representative. We hope you will join us.
