Emanu-El member Mark Leiren-Young, has just earned top honours for his children’s book Orcas Everywhere: The Mystery and History of Killer Whales.
He is the winner of the City of Victoria Children’s Book Prize, now in its 13th year. Mark’s entry topped several well-known locals to take the $5,000 prize awarded during a virtual gala last Sunday evening.
