My Place Needs Towels & Pillow Cases

My place at our place 3Our Place is staffing and partially funding a transitional residence called My Place. This off-shoot presently houses 44 men and 4 women. The dormitory-style area is a large gym, divided into 48 small spaces, surrounded by fairly low curtains. In each cubby there is a bed and, fitting underneath, a large plastic bin to hold personal items. The residents may stay for an indefinite time, hopefully moving from here to housing.

While there are showers there are not enough towels. And while the residents are given pillows, there are not enough pillow cases. Avodah is asking for the donation of both bath-sized towels and pillow cases in gently-used condition. These can be left in the Avodah donation box which is located in the area between the social hall and the sanctuary. An Avodah member will collect these and give them to a My Place staff member.

If you have a large quantity of towels/pillow cases you may also email Jackie at jsaundersritchie@shaw.ca to arrange a drop-off or pickup.
