Judaica from Far & Near: a gathering of treasures

IMG_4103This new exhibit in the Fisher Social Hall features old and contemporary Kippot from around the world, beautiful Ḥamsot and some fine Judaica. One of the special pieces on display is King David’s Harp, on loan farm Mike Goldstein.
A note from Mike:
In 1988, celebrating the State of Israel’s 40th anniversary, my father, Rabbi Leonard Goldstein (z”l) commissioned the gift of King David’s Harp for the President of Israel, Chaim Herzog, to be permanently displayed at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem. The artist Micah Harari, a master craftsman living in the Jerusalem Hills, recreated this harp based on a design found on a seal from the 7th C. BCE and made a second one so Mike’s father could enjoy it too.
It is Mike’s honour to share this legacy of his late father with us.

Thanks to all the congregants and friends who loaned their treasures.
