A universal story of hope, love, rejection and acceptance, Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of Tevye the dairyman’s lionhearted attempts to hold on to cultural and religious traditions despite sweeping social changes upsetting his family values and threatening his town’s very existence. Forced to choose between his daughters’ happiness and his culture’s beloved traditions, Tevye is trying to balance life — like a fiddler on a roof.
One of Broadway’s first musicals to deal with persecution, poverty and holding to one’s beliefs, Fiddler has been performed around the world, from Brooklyn to Japan to Brazil, and is in its fifth Broadway revival.
