⅓ cup brown sugar
2 TBSP flour
½ tsp. cinnamon
6 cups (about 7 apples or 2¼ lbs.) peeled and thinly sliced apples
1 cup quick cooking oatmeal
½ cup flour
¼ cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts
½ cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease an 8” square cake pan. Set aside.
Combine the ⅓ cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp. flour and cinnamon in a large bowl. Add sliced apples, tossing to coat. Spoon into prepared pan. Set aside.
In another bowl combine quick cooking oatmeal, ½ cup flour, ¼ cup brown sugar and walnuts. Stir in melted butter. (Mixture will be crumbly.) Spoon over apple mixture.
Bake 45 minutes or until apple mixture is bubbly and topping is golden brown. Serve warm.
